CLASSES AT COUNTRY ZEN

VINYASA

A challenging flow of postures distinguished by a strong pace matched to the breath, incorporating a focus on core strength. Suitable for active beginners to advanced students. Warm up and cool down provided, with relaxation (Savasana) to follow.

FUNDAMENTAL FLOW

A broken-down version of a Vinyasa class. Spend a little more time in the postures piecing together a flow. Focus on exploration, explanation and deepening alignment. Great for beginners, or those new to a strong practice.

HATHA

An accessible mid-range practice at a medium pace, with a wide range of postures chosen to strike the perfect balance between strength and restoration. Practice reclined, seated and standing postures with modifications given to the group at hand.

RESTORATIVE

A gentle class geared towards slowing down, focusing on stretching to release tension and help restore balance to the body and mind. The perfect way to renew and de-stress. Suitable for those seeking a more gentle option and anyone with physical limitations. May include use of pand meditation.

YIN

By holding passive postures for longer periods of time we move through the superficial muscle to release connective tissues, while nourishing and supporting the nervous system. This floor sequence class can feel intense as we experience sensation that keeps us present and begin to navigate how we meet tension in our body and in our life, on and off the mat. It is through this stillness that we rehydrate ourselves on the deepest level, stimulate our energetic meridians and discover our ability to meet resistance with grace. Gentle hands on adjustments and meditation are often a part of class.

KARMA

A class donated by the teacher and studio free of charge to provide an accessible and economical option. We accept donations to the Schomberg Community Farm Bridge Project on behalf of this class ($5 suggested). All-levels, gentle accessible yoga practice that incorporates reclined/seated/standing postures, breathing and meditation

 


PRE-REGISTERED PROGRAMS


PRE-NATAL (UNHEATED)

A Prenatal yoga series will offer a time of connection to your mind, body and soul. By moving through flowing Sun Salutations and powerful standing postures we will tap into the strength and wisdom of the female body. We will focus on lengthening and stretching areas that may become uncomfortable as the pregnancy progresses as well as introducing breathing techniques that will help settle the mind and allow your innate wisdom to surface. Come and enjoy this opportunity to connect with other women at various stages of pregnancy.

Prenatal Yoga can give you the energy to enjoy your pregnancy, the serenity to build a deeper intimacy with your own body and spirit, and also the presence of mind to feel confident in the face of labour and birth. Join us in this beautiful space and give yourself and your baby the gift of yoga.

MOM & BABY (UNHEATED)

A great time to get out with your baby, stretch and strengthen towards optimal health and unite in a community of supportive and like-minded mothers. We recommend that you wait until you are 6 weeks postpartum and have your healthcare provider's support in moving forward with this gentle yet effective class. You and your baby will leave the class feeling revitalized and grounded, equipped with tools to go through the day with energy and peace.
